The producer
The Domaine des Lambrays estate’s modern history starts in 1996 when it was acquired by the Freune family, who made significant investments in both the land and the cellar. The domaine’s most famous wine is the 8.66-hectare Clos des Lambrays grand cru, which is the largest grand cru vineyard in Burgundy under one single owner. Furthermore, Domaine de Lambrays produce another couple premier cru and village Morey-Saint-Denis and a couple of Puligny-Montrachets. 2019 is the first fully organic vintage in the vineyard.
The wine
Domaine des Lambrays’ most famous wine is the 8.66-hectare Clos des Lambrays grand cru, which is the largest grand cru vineyard in Burgundy under one single owner. The grand cru tends to be made with a relatively large proportion of stems, although this can vary with vintage conditions, and ageing takes place in up to 50% new French oak barrels. These are wines of great purity, power, and elegance.
