We have a small team running the business but one that brings excellent competencies and passion.

James McCormac - Founder and Managing Director

An educated wine lover with the vision for the business. James blended his love of wine and his corporate background to create The Perfect Bottle. He has had a passion for wines for many years and has been fortunate to taste some of the world’s greatest wines and has become knowledgeable on the topic as a result. More importantly, he has a strong desire to give more wine lovers greater and easier access to fine wines, breaking down walls to make this happen, hence the foundation of The Perfect Bottle. He wants to "pass the baton onto the next generation". James’ background is mainly corporate, holding senior leadership positions in the logistics industry.

William Kelley - Co-Founder and Finance Director

James describes Will as "like looking at a younger self". Equally passionate about fine food and wine from a young age, he has a thirst to learn having started the WSET courses (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) excelling in his results to date. Will is a Chartered Accountant by profession with extensive experience in areas such as finance, tax, audit and corporate finance. In addition to the finance Will brings great tech experience to the team and shares, with James, a passion to “democractise” fine wine and make it more accessible to a wider audience. In his downtime, he enjoys hiking in the mountains and is a qualified Summer and Winter Mountain Leader.   

Kathrine Larsen-Robert - Wine Advisor and Master Sommelier

A Master Sommelier (one of only 269 in the world) and the UK Master Sommelier of the year in 2014. Kathrine is Premium Wine Ambassador for Enotria and Coe and was also Head Sommelier at Zuma, Orrery and Pont de la Tour among others. 

Kathrine is part of the glue that binds us together bringing immense product, professional and technical knowledge. She has tremendous experience with consumers on the service side as well as on the academic side. Her passion really shines through.

Kathrine also has her own successful wine consulting business and is very well connected in the industry. We expect her role will grow with us as the business does.
