The producer
Remi Jobard took over the family domaine from his father, Charles, in 1996. His cousin, Antoine Jobard, also makes Meursault. Remi Jobard owns an impressive range of vineyard land in Meursault especially in premier cru land, from which he produces Chardonnay of incredible aromatic purity, but also a few delicious Pinot Noirs are made. we are currently listing the premiers crus Genevrieres and Les Poruzots. Vineyards have been certified organic since 2008.
The wine
Remi Jobard owns 0.64 hectares in the prized Genevrieres premier cru vineyard, which has excellent slope and exposure, and which tends to make wines of a high mineral expression, with, some would say, a juniper note – perhaps deriving from bushes making up the southern edge of the vineyard. Jobard vinifies and matures his wines for around 12 months in barrel, followed by 6 months in tank. These are wines of elevated and fine-tuned aromatic expression is elevated and highly fine-tuned, and with generous fruit concentration.
