The producer
The Giacosa family name was established in the Langhe region in 1871 by Carlo Giacosa, Bruno Giacosa's grandfather, who started as a wine merchant. He built a network of excellent local growers and began vinifying their grapes at the winery in Neive, near Alba. Post-World War II, a 15-year-old Bruno joined his father Mario in the family business.
By the time the winery was managed by the third generation, Giacosa had become one of the top three labels in Barbaresco. While learning the trade, Bruno also developed his winemaking philosophy, emphasizing a passionate pursuit of perfection and the belief that wine should reflect its location and terroir.
With its Roero Arneis, the Giacosa team has mastered the "little rascal" of Alba, crafting a fragrant, straw-gold wine with generous white fruit notes.
The wine
Bruno Giacosa Roero Arneis is crafted from the 'Arneis' white grape variety, native to Piedmont, thriving particularly well on the sandy hills of Roero, northwest of Alba. This complex wine features a highly expressive bouquet and rich flavors. Aromas of stone fruits, green apples, and spring flowers lead to a palate bursting with soft citrus notes, pineapples, and peaches, complemented by a zesty, mineral acidity. This attractive and harmonious wine will be delightful upon release and can be enjoyed over the next two to three years.
