Thierry Allemand

Thierry Allemand started his domain in 1982. Not originally from a winemaking background, he quickly made waves in the then quiet corner of the Rhone Valley. The domaine now covers five hectares in some of the best lieu-dits on the slopes of the appellation – Chaillots, Pigeonnier, Reynards and Tezier.

Allemand’s top wines, Reynard and Chaillot, are made from 20 to 40-year-old vines and over 100-year-old vines respectively. The fermentation is with whole bunches, followed by 18-24 months ageing in old barrels, and an average annual production of 500 cases are made of each. Without losing the impressive depth and richness of the appellation, these are wines with considerable elegance and finesse.
