Schoenenbourg Grand Cru

The 53.40-hectare Schoenenbourg Grand Cru is located directly north of the village of Riquewihr and stretching towards the village of Zellenberg. South facing, at an altitude of 265-380 metres, Schoenenbourg is a cooler site (compared to neighbouring Grand Crus) with slightly later ripening fruit. The soil is composed of marl, dolomite rock and gypsum and is covered with sandstone pebbles. Vineyard is best known for Riesling, but Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris also planted here.
