Poggio Antico

Founded in 1976, Poggio Antico is located south of the village of Montalcino, on the highest hill of the denomination. 35 hectares of vineyards are planted to Sangiovese, at 500 metres above sea level in deep calcareous rock and galestro soil. The estate has been certified organic since the 2020 vintage, and all vineyard work is done meticulously by hand.  Poggio Antico’s wines regularly receive top scores from the world’s leading wine critics and the estate has since 2017 been owned by Marcel van Poecke.
