Michel & Stephanie Ogier

Michel Ogier started making and bottling his own wines in 1983, breaking with generations of simply being a grape-grower, and quickly developed a reputation for the wines. Son Stephane – who studied winemaking in Burgundy and South Africa previously – joined his father at the family estate in 1997, and finally taking full charge of the estate in 2003.

Stephane brought the Burgundian philosophy which he had learned while studying with him when he returned to Cote Rotie, and thus started vinifying each vineyard parcel separately, eventually also bottling a range of single vineyard Cote Roties. This domain is a fabulous source of wines through the entire portfolio down to negociant-level Cotes-du-Rhones.
