Barone Ricasoli

The Ricasoli family has been linked to wine since 1141, at which time they were already in possession of the Brolio Castle. The family understood, early on, the great potential wine growing potential of the territory around the Brolio Castle and were among the first to dedicate themselves to improving vineyards, olive groves and agriculture in general.

The 32^nd Barone Ricasoli – Francesco Ricasoli – is owner and president of the company today and has since 1993 devoted himself to the continued innovation, and sustainable improvements of the 238 ha of vineyards and the 1,200 ha estate and olive groves, which are located in Gaiole in Chianti in the southern part of the Chianti Classico zone, and which is by far the largest estate in the region. Today producing 4 different Gran Selezione wines, of which we have the single vineyards ‘Ceni Primo’ and ‘Roncicone’.
